His education and work experience is in engineering, as a senior executive at Fortune 500 companies and a small business owner. He has worked in a variety of industries including transportation, finance, healthcare and technology. He has many hobbies including fishing, gardening, sports and surfing the Internet. He likes to write about subjects for which he has a passionate interest and can draw on his experience as a engineer, businessman and outdoors-man. He currently lives in Texas with his wife of 25+ years, 2 teen age children and bunch of dogs.

Helpful and Informative

With the disclaimer that it was actually my husband who read this book, not me, I am reviewing it based on his opinion.
My husband has a hydroponic garden in which he is growing all kinds of vegetables and a couple of fruits. LOTS of information is needed to do this correctly, way more research than I ever wanted to do...so I do a greenhouse and the outside stuff, he does the hydroponics. :-)
The book is well researched and is very informative, covering hydroponics, aeroponics and aquaponics, and the differences between the three. Even though he has done his own research and built his hydro system based on what he learned on his own, and the fact that he has already put his system into action, my husband still found information within this book that was useful to him, and even caused him to tweak a few things for better performance of his system.
All in all, he found the book very helpful.

This book is a joke!

I do not think the author Bob Long has ever set up or ran a aeroponics, hydroponic or aquaponic system. This book basically reads like a 6th grade book report - which may be actually what it is. It has no hands on, or in-depth technical information to set up any of these ponic systems. You could easily do a quick search on the internet and get all the information in this 59 page book in about 15 minutes, (which he probably did or maybe one of his children). It has a nice sell you - picture on the cover and I find it hard to believe Mr. Long actually had the balls to put his face on the back cover. This is nothing more than a money making scheme. I am returning my book. Don't waste your time or hard earned money with this one.

Very basic information

The information was very basic in this thin book. All the information can be found online and for free. Two stars because it is a good basic introduction to the ponics if they don't know how to use the Internet.
