There is an unusual approach in this book as Thompson inserts a chapter that is like a letter to southern Americans

What do I say? I am still reeling from this information. This book is packed with topics for debate, but the premise is that the fathers' of America's Black Slaves "agreed" for their descendants to be America's slaves! The interesting thing is that these ancestors were treated extremely well as you'll see in the chapters discussing the loyalty between the black slaves ancestors and America's ancestors. Thompson also addresses the issue of white supremacy making the case that it happened in pre-American history and the descendants who perpetrated crimes against the black man in ancient times are probably the ones doing the same today. There is an unusual approach in this book as Thompson inserts a chapter that is like a letter to southern Americans. The author gives them an identity and supports it based on their own behaviors and recorded behaviors of their ancestors. The author actually identifies via Biblical history and writings the identity of white AND black Americans. This is definitely a "race discussion" starter. Coffee is also included!
This is a must read if you are interested in the back and forth race rhetoric in America and if you've ever wondered "why" concerning slavery. I liked it because it was a quick read (took me less than 2 hours), but one I found myself returning to for follow-up research points when discussing with a friend. The writing style is very simple and jumps a bit to give us additional info, (the author explains this in the opening). Maybe Thompson should have taken more time to develop a stronger foundation in her ancestor proofs, but tells us the goal was to get the key race issue information out quickly. While I could criticize the simplistic writing style and the additional highlights through the text, I loved the laid back style. It was as if I was sitting at a table and listening to some one explain this topic to me, even with a few tongue in cheek moments. I am so enthralled with the books base and conclusion on America's racial disaster, I am giving it 5 stars.

I wasted my time reading this

I've spent half of my life as a professional historian concentrating on Antebellum America and the aftermath of slavery. I cannot even begin to critique this because there is nothing substantial to critique. It's all speculation based on some tenuous assumptions about the descendants of Noah and the Lost Tribes of Israel. I was expecting the same old hackneyed Biblical based arguments spouted by slavery apologists since the early days of our country. But no, I get some wild-eyed ramblings making some rash assumptions based on which cultures are descended from which Biblical figure. As a professional, I must ask - Why are there no citations of primary sources for the historical background on these cultures? Why is the no genetic analysis to back up these assertions? As a professional, I can also answer these questions. Because there are none! This book belongs in the realm of the writings of Zachariah Stitchen.
