John Warwick Montgomery is considered by many to be the foremost living apologist for biblical Christianity.He is the author of more than fifty books in five languages.He holds ten earned degrees, including a Master of Philosophy in Law from the University of Essex, an LL.M. from Cardiff University, Wales, a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, and a Doctorate of the University in Protestant Theology from the University of Strasbourg, France.

A Great Resource For Exploring Whether Christianity Is True of False

'History, Law, and Christianity' by Dr. John Warwick Montgomery is short, but very sweet.

Although it is only about 124 pages, this work contains a lot of evidence regarding the historical evidence for Christianity, including the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Amazingly in such a small volume, the author is able to cover a lot of history, philosophical errors made by the opponents of Christianity, and much more. As Dr. Montgomery observes: 'The historic Christian claim differs qualitatively from the claims of all other world religions at the epistemological point: on the issue of testability'. He goes on to say, 'Eastern faiths and Islam, to take familiar examples, ask the uncommitted seeker to discover their truth experientially: the faith-experience will be self-validating'. He makes it clear that Christianity is testable. It can be believed based upon the evidence, rather than just some subjective feelings. I would recommend this book strongly. It will be of great help to anyone who is interested in exploring the truth or falsehood of the religions of the world.

Thoughtful and Useful Resource

"History, Law and Christianity" is a helpful tool when considering the reason behind following Christ. Though the book is short, there is plenty of content to explore. I recommend Dr. Montgomery's work as a worthwhile introduction to to historical support for Jesus and his claims.

About the Author

Ibrahim Dincer is a full professor of Mechanical Engineering and director of Clean Energy Research Laboratory at UOIT. Renowned for his pioneering works in the area of sustainable energy technologies, including clean transportation options, he has authored/co-authored many books, book chapters, and refereed journal and conference papers. He has chaired national and international conferences, symposia, workshops and technical meetings and delivered many keynote and invited lectures. He is an active member of various international scientific organizations and societies, and serves as editor-in-chief, associate editor, regional editor, and editorial board member on various prestigious international journals. He is a recipient of several research, teaching and service awards, including the Premier's research excellence award in Ontario, Canada. He has recently been recognized by Thomson Reuters as one of The Most Influential Scientific Minds in Engineering.

Halil S. Hamut is a Chief Senior Researcher at The Scientific and Research Council of Turkey (TÜBITAK) and the project manager for developing Turkey’s first brand of national electric vehicles. He received his PhD from the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, University of Ontario Institute of Technology in Canada, in 2013. He has previously collaborated with General Motors Company in Oshawa, Canada and worked for Ford Motor Company in Michigan, U.S.A He has published many journals and conference papers and has been a reviewer for several journals. His research interests are primarily concerned with exergy, exergoeconomic and exergoenvironmental analyses of electric and hybrid electric vehicle thermal management systems.

I liked this book very much. It's not a zombie horror, but it does make you sit up and think "am I a zombie" I don't want to go into any detail because I hate "spoilers" no matter what you do, people are going to read the spoilers. But this is one book that I think anyone would like.

A Look At Computers And Computer Manufacturing

Robert X. Cringely, a former Apple employee turned tech gossip columnist, provides us an interesting book about Computers and Computer Manufactuing in Accidental Empires. It provides the reader a lot of information about the arguably the biggest industy in the world from its humble beginnings until the time (1996) it was written which happens to be the peak of its explosion during the 90's when the internet provided a major impact to everyone lives. It presents us the important people behind it such as the late Steve Jobs,Bill Gates and many others. Also included are the new major companies in Silicon Valley. Although this was written twenty years ago, it still remains a great book and it will give us a better appreciation of the things that happened back then and the years to come. People in the IT industry will surely appreciate it.

Focusing on the Process can Achieve Greatness

Ever wonder where that "Smart Phone" in your hand came from? I'll tell you where ... it came from men and women who worked in companies that had one goal ... and only one - "SUCCEED ... or die trying." Don't get me wrong ... every human being lives their life pursuing goals But whereas most of our human goals derive from immediacy and "needs" - the goals in THIS book derived from "wants" and previously non-perceived VISION of how to mold the future. Robert Cringely wrote an OUTSTANDING book with wit, clarity and unabridged humor that described the entire gamut of efforts by virtually EVERY major player that was blessed to have this "vision" of what tomorrow will be like ... by chronologically describing the PATH of how your "Smart Phone" of today became so smart. Though the details he provides would stimulate the senses of a "nerd-type-teckie", he wrote it in a style that can also be easily understood by any high school student. I would recommend this book as an ESSENTIAL READ for ANYONE who is even REMOTELY thinking of starting their own business. I rate it FIVE-and-a-half Stars. It's JUST THAT GOOD.

Change of pace

Tired of reading fawning novels about the movers and shakers of the computing age? Tired of reading tired knowledge passed off as far reaching vision because the author happened to be in the right place and made a pile of money?
This is the book for you. Robert Cringley has no reason to be nice to anyone since (1) he writes a column on the dirt of the industry and (2) his name is a pseudonym.
So, the gloves are off, and no holds are barred.
Of course, there are a few of Cringely's laws, and some of those tired bits of vision (broadband. It's the next big thing, as of 1996. Spitting distance to 2001 and I'm still waiting!).
The addendum to the 1996 edition is interesting, since it's less predictive than the 1992 edition. Sometime between 1996 and the present, things changed in ways that no one expected, and the predictions are rather amusing. In 1992, looking at the 'new' 486s and looking at the future, the vision is true.
If you want to see someone analyze everyone's personality defects, in depth, this is the book for you. If not, there's plenty else to read.
I'd recommend this work.

Interesting...with caveats

Spoilers ahead...I enjoyed the book right up to where she fainted. I could understand how she might feel a little betrayed when she had felt an affinity for Jon at the charity event, only to find out he was one of "them". What I don't understand is how she could let him off the hook for upending her life?! He didn't call her after their night together, manipulates her into being forced to move to NYC so he can "figure out what they have". What an egotistical jerk! And right when I thought she was going to call him out on it, she FAINTS and gets amnesia? And they never talk about it again? What? Then the fiance issue takes over as the main problem, and Jon gets a pass on all his previous selfish crap. Given, not telling Lizette right away that the fiance bit was a ruse in order to enable the flow of information was also extremely stupid, but it just follows in the line of selfish acts he has performed. I could not get behind the unrealistic end (not that romance is ever realistic, let's be real) because I don't think Jon has truly changed. He continues to manipulate her in Japan, and manipulate circumstances at home. Lizette, you were a strong woman...don't let that entitled d-bag choose your life for you.

So drawn out

Wow I just don't know this was so drawn out the cat and mouse chase was eternal. The plot was predictable and the characters were not very likable. The steamy sex was too little, not well written, they skipped good parts and raced to the end!
This book was very repetitive Jon and Lizette meet they get along wonderfully, they make love Jon leaves the next morning either to work or for some other reason ...........Lizette wakes up happy at first however, once she realises Jon isn't there she doubts his love and runs away. This happens over and over and over. I have no desire to read another book by this author if this this formula she takes for all her books.

The Billionaire's Secret:Betting on You by Jeannette Winters is a wonderful first book by this new author. From the first page to the last this book kept me interested. This book is a wonderful love story about Jon and Lizette. Jon knew from the first meeting with Lizette he wanted her and he was one determined man. The interaction between the two was great and with a great cast of secondary characters makes for a great read. Check it out, I am sure you will not be disappointed. Wonderful start for a new author and I am looking forward to reading more of Jeannette Winters's work.
